There is no description. Sorry. Now go away.
I read Michael Moore's site and generally enjoy it. "Enjoy" doesn't mean the same thing as agree, however, and something has struck me in my reading.

What is Mike Moore so pissed off about?

The guy's pissed off about the war in Iraq, that's for sure.

But...

But...

He keeps posting articles and links to articles about what a sad job America is doing to help Iraqis. Uhhh...what? You don't want the US military in Iraq in the FIRST PLACE, so why should you care who gets helped or not? I mean, if you had your way, there'd be no military help available for anyone in Iraq. So why get upset when they don't get helped like you want them to?

It's the typical liberal problem of wanting to have things every way. Don't tell US soldiers you don't want them involved in Iraq and then tell them that they aren't involved enough. That isn't just fence sitting, it's pure bullshit. It just means you won't be happy with anything that happens, no matter what it is.

How lame.

Hmmm...

I can see how you can see him as hypocritical. He pisses me off a lot too, but more by how he says things than what he's saying.

Here's the thing though. There has been a number of reasons given for "operation Iraqi freedom". The WMDs being awol, humanitarian reasons have been promoted as the key issue at stake - ridding the Iraqi people of a tyrant. OK. Humanitarian missions are supposed to normalise things, provide those in need with what they need - security, food, shelter, electricity, and in this case, sovereignty.

Maybe Michael Moore is suggesting that the US troops do what the US government is telling the world they are here to do, and help the Iraqi people? Maybe he's suggesting that they should sort out the infrastructure before leaving Iraq, so that a vacuum doesn't occur and all hell in the Middle East really DOES let loose?

I guess it's like watching your child crossing a road for him. You don't want him near the road in the first place, but once he's standing in the middle with cars going for him, you don't want him getting hurt either. So you tell him to run to the other side.

Then why have a kid in the first place?
